QPR Takeover Now Imminent

Flavio BriatoreQPR’s board of directors have resigned ahead of the expected takeover from Renault Formula One team boss Flavio Briatore.

Gianni Paladini is to stay on as chairman, with James Steele, Nick De Marco and James Ferrary all leaving.

The Statement from the board read as follows:

“The new investment will be the most important for years,” said a statement from the trio of ex-board members.

The statement continued: “It will save QPR from the perilous financial position we have found ourselves in and should put the club in an excellent position to move forward.

“We would like to thank Gianni Paladini in particular for attracting this important new investment and we are delighted he will stay on as chairman of the club.

“We are certain the new investors and the new board will get behind manager John Gregory and give him the support he needs.”

  1. I am the only Rangers fan being driven mad by this prolonged saga? No news is good news I suppose, but how hard can it be for somebody in the media to give this story some ‘Decent coverage’ to those that care ? QPR may not be the biggest news story but come on!

  2. Believe me your not the only fan! I’m definitely crossing my figures that this deal goes through as soon as possible. Word seems to be that it should be sorted by the end of the week. I just hope no one gets put off by QPRs performances on the pitch.
