QPR sign Cardiff defender Chris Barker
QPR have signed Chris Barker from Cardiff city on a free transfer today it has been revealed.
Chris Barker, the 27 year old left back spent last season on-loan at Colchester where he had a successful season making 39 appearances in all competitions. He was Cardiff City Supporters’ Player of the Year in 2004/05. Speaking to the official QPR website John Gregory showed his delight at signing the highly regarded defender.
“He’s one I’ve been interested in for some time, so I’m delighted he’s signed.
“He excelled in a very successful Colchester side last year and he was a firm favourite at Cardiff before the arrival of Dave Jones.
“There were four or five other Clubs in this division pursuing him, so it’s quite a coup for us.”
Chris Barker will take up the number three shirt, vacated by Mauro Milanese.
